Upcoming Guitar Shows 2023

McClaren Guitars at English Folk expo, manchester folk festival

Over the next couple of months I’ll be showcasing my guitars at some shows up and down the UK.

I’ll aim to have 3 guitars at each show, of which you can try. By attending these guitar shows, you’ll be able to chat to me about the guitars, ask me any questions you may have, and understand the work that goes into each guitar. You’ll also be able to buy the guitars I have on my stand as well as looking at placing an order for a guitar to be built for you.

Ullapool Guitar Festival

6th – 8th October 2023

ullapool guitar festival

Heading back to one I did last year, the Ullapool Guitar Festival. Another great lineup, and sure to be many brilliant people attending this one!

This year sees a host of musicians return, including Clive Carroll, Will McNicol, Allan Neave and students from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Jule Malischke, Tristan Seume, John Goldie and Soenke Meinen.

The days are filled with workshops, concerts, food, meeting new friends and of course trying some guitars. Each evening the Festival club is hosted by Chas Mackenzie and Adam Bulley. Definitely worth staying for, as its a great way to hear the musicians in a more relaxed environment and chat to friends.

Manchester Folk Festival (English Folk EXPO)

19th – 22nd October 2023

enlgish folk expo

The Manchester Folk Festival is held over 3 days at a variety of venues across Manchester’s Northern Quarter. I’ve done this folk show for a few years and each year it gets better, and the line up for this years festival is huge. As a highlight, George Boomsma (who appears in our McClaren Guitars Workshop Sessions) will be playing a concert at this festival, so make sure you get to see him.

During the Trade fair event on the 20th October, I will be showcasing my guitars on a stand where you’ll be able to try them. I’m also hoping to make some of the concerts over the three days, so if you see me come up for a chat. I’ll most likely be wearing a McClaren Guitars t shirt, so I’ll be easy to spot.

London International Guitar Show – Kempton Park Racecourse

29th October

I’m delighted to be teaming up with ToneWoodAmp for The London International Guitar show. This is definitely my biggest show of the year in terms of the amount of people attending the show, and probably the biggest guitar show in London and probably England, with over 150 exhibitors.

The ToneWoodAmp uses patented technology to vibrate the back of virtually any acoustic guitar, creating the sound effects you know and love, therefore there’s no need for an amp.
With the ToneWoodAmp, you preserve your instrument’s own unique voice, enhance its performance, and infinitely expand its capabilities for an unparalleled playing and listening experience.

The ToneWoodAmp will be attached to the McClaren Guitars, so you can give both of them a try at the same time or even buy them. Alongside myself, Connor Thomas will be on the stand as well as many other outstanding guitarists associated with ToneWoodAmp , that will be playing on McClaren Guitars during the day.

Thirsk Guitar Show – Thirsk Auction Mart

5th November

Another show where I will be showcasing alongside ToneWoodAmp. A local show for me, and one that I haven’t been to in a while, the Thirsk Guitar Show. The show runs from 10-3 and has a mixture of dealers, makers and parts suppliers. You’ll be able to try McClaren Guitars on my stand, as well as the ToneWoodAmp. I will mostly be showcasing my Performance Series guitars at this show, and you’ll be able to ask me any questions you may have.

Connor Thomas will again be on our stand, and he is playing a live performance at the show too. Definitely worth a trip to this one.
